Delta Dental Wins Innovator Award from National Software Company

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Dec. 1, 2008 – Delta Dental of Oklahoma’s efforts to radically improve insurance underwriting and reporting through technology has earned them a 2008 Sage Customer Award for Best Innovation in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) from nationally-known Sage Software. Delta Dental uses the company’s industry-leading SalesLogix customer relationship management software, which helps acquire, retain, and develop profitable relationships.

In 2007 Delta Dental of Oklahoma began working with the Sage software to reduce tasks that were being done by hand. "Rather than using valuable man-hours to create numerous documents, the company, with the help of a consultant, found innovative ways to automate time-consuming and costly processes," Delta Dental of Oklahoma’s Auditor Christina Short, said. "What once took a staff member 90 minutes to accomplish can now be done in about 20 minutes."

Prior to implementing the software, the non-profit organization housed nearly 25 years of active and inactive paper files and documentation for all clients. Now, the paper files have been scanned, renamed, attached, and stored electronically for instant access to the customer’s information and history.

Short said the new process has helped shorten rating efforts dramatically for current and prospective clients. What formerly took days to accomplish can now be done in a manner of minutes. At the same time it has greatly improved the accuracy of reports by eliminating the need to enter and re-enter figures by hand. Turnaround times to customers has dropped immensely, allowing more customers to be serviced with cleaner (and verifiably accurate information) in a shorter period of time.

Delta Dental has a long history of providing superior customer service. Keeping an eye on innovation is one way the non-profit organization continues to earn nearly perfect marks for service in surveys conducted by the company each year.
